Nancy Brem, L. Ao.
Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine
In 1995, Nancy began the study of a traditional martial art at The Academy of Southern Chinese Gung Fu in Holland, NY. The curriculum included the study of acupuncture meridians and the traditional lifestyle of the Chinese martial artist. In China, years ago, martial artists were trained in acupuncture and were expected to be healers, counselors, herbalists and socially responsible to serve their community. For Nancy, this had a strong influence on the development of a career path.
Nancy earned her Master of Education from the University of Phoenix and she served her community as an educator while pursuing her study of Acupuncture at Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture. Upon entering the PHIMA, she became profoundly ill and was diagnosed with a debilitating digestive disorder called Crohn's disease. Contrary to the medical advice, she opted to use Chinese Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture to heal. Within 18 months Nancy was symptom free and in excellent health. Since that time she has helped many patients through her internship at PIHMA and through private practice to become symptom free and to achieve excellent health naturally.
